Aqara door contact sensors do not send updates

Hi,

after ZHA with Conbee II stopped partially working (hue light were not working anymore) i startet all over again using Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus and Zigbee2Mqtt.

Everything has worked when i was adding the devices to Zigbee2Mqtt.

But my Aqara contact sensors are not sending an update anymore. I have to press the pair button once (not holding it to reset) and after it the sensors send their updates again.

But why is this needed / what is the problem? Any ideas?

I can push the button on all sensors once of course, but i need to find the root cause, because when it fails again and i do not recognize it, automations won’t run etc.

I use Z2M for some Aqara devices, and I have to leave “Permit Join” checked in Z2M. If I don’t, the Aqara devices will disconnect if not used for a while. I use the older Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 “P” dongle with flashed firmware.

I looked high and low for answers and this is the only setting that fixed my Zigbee network for me. Thank you!!

Did this fix the error for you? Have the Aqara devices been connecting stably since then? Are you using Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus?

It did!! They’ve been working perfectly since. Even better than ZHA. So thankful for that poster.

Yes in repeater mode and husbzb-1 in controller mode.

I use the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus as a controller, but the Aqara devices disconnect after 50 minutes, even if I turn on “Permit Join”.

Ae the devices connected to the coordinator or via a router?

I have a ZBDongle-P and a lot of aqara devices without issue.

Aqara is known to have issues with some router devices.

They connect via a coordinator, but they do not connect stably with Sonoff E either in ZHA or Z2M.
As your Aqara devices connect to the Sonoff P as a coordinator?

Both.

I have a mix of MCCGQ11LM and MCCGQ14LM contact sensors. Six are connected directly to the ZBDongle-P coordinator, the others are all via router devices, mostly ZBDongle-P sticks flashed with router firmware.

This is all z2m. I DO NOT leave permit join enabled.
