Not really a project I know, but thought this might be useful to others.
I just realised that the Aqara Door and Window sensor will operate when the magnet is placed at the bottom of the sensor as well as at the side. I was about to take a chisel to the frame to get it to sit in there vertically.
This makes for a neat and easy way to monitor a dead-bolt.
I had to drill out the hole a little deeper and glue a disc magnet to the end of the bolt.
Works perfectly.
