Aqara E1 USB Hub in Home Assistant?

I’m also not fully sure, I tend to get them into zigbe, but again its very hard to process it to do it, I also got a M3 hub but not really wanting to try or test it as I got it setup ok as it is without the E3 hub I seperated the sensor to go onto the hub the nearest to it, by using a Apple Hey Seri device into HA as well

For iPhone users:

  1. First Pair your Aqara E1 Hub to Aqara Home via Apple Homekit support.
  2. Add your Aqara sensors and devices.
  3. Then get a Matter code from Aqara home > Accessories > E1 Control Hub > Expose to Matter > Matter Pairing Code.
  4. Enter the above Matter code in Home Assistant, Settings > Devices and Services > Matter > Add Entry if it say go to mobile app, Just open Home Assistant Mobile app and repeat this step on your iPhone.

I do not have Android so I am not sure about if it is possible to pair Aqara E1 Hub to HA via Matter.

I have the solution how to connect the E1 hub to your HA:

  1. Add to Aqara Home App: Plug in the E1 Hub and add it to the Aqara Home app.

  2. Apple Home Prompt: When prompted, complete the setup through the Apple Home app. This gives the Hub its Wi-Fi credentials.

  3. Update Firmware: Go back to the Aqara Home app and check for firmware updates.

  4. Pair & Calibrate Shades: Add your Roller Shade Drivers to the E1 Hub within the Aqara app or sensors or whatever.

Phase 2: Transfer to Home Assistant

  1. Remove from Apple Home: Open the Apple Home app on your iPhone. Find the Aqara E1 Hub, go to its settings, and select “Remove Accessory”.

• Note: Do NOT reset the Hub physically. Just remove it from the Apple app. The LED should remain blue (connected to Wi-Fi) but the Hub is now “searching” for a new HomeKit controller.

  1. Home Assistant Detection: Wait about 30–60 seconds. Log into your Home Assistant dashboard. A notification should appear: “Discovered: HomeKit Accessory: Aqara Hub E1”.

  2. Configure in HA: * Click Configure.

• Select HomeKit Device (not HomeKit Bridge).

• It will ask for a Pairing Code.

  1. Enter the Code: Enter the 8-digit code found on the back of the E1 USB stick or in the manual (format: XXX-XX-XXX).

And done!! Works like a charm now.
