I am running into a road block with getting my Aqara FP2 Connected to home assistant, My setup is probably one that is unusual to most in that my home assistant server isn’t physically located on the same site as my home and is in fact hosted on my proxmox cluster in my office. This has presented issues in the past but i have always found work arounds, I probably should move it to a local controller at home but i haven’t started that task yet as the home assistant controls things both at home and in the office.
Long story short. mDNS doesn’t work over the Site to Site VPN (obviously most people will already know this) and as such i can’t seem to pair the home assistant to the FP2, The home kit device doesn’t detect the FP2 and adding a home kit bridge and trying to add that to my phone also doesn’t work.
My question is do I stop over complicating things just because I want my home assistant on a high availability rig and backed up and split the two sites or is there a way anyone knows to pair the device over the site magic Unifi site to site vpn?
