Aqara M2 IR blaster scene using HomeKit controller

Hello!
I have configured Aqara M2 setup.
I’ve bought Raspberry and installed Home Assistant and it works great! Thanks!
I’ve found that I can connect Aqara M2 to HA using HomeKit Controller and everything is great but…

Finally Aqara M2 has possibility to export scene from Aqara App to Home App and I use it to control AC. This is the only feature of my Aqara setup that is not presented in Home App as a device but a scene.

My question is … will HomeKit Controller in HA find my scene if i choose to export this from Aqara to HomeKit? I do not want to try because I lose my current setup. If it wouldn’t work i do not want to setup this again without getting any extra feature.

What makes you think you will “lose your current setup”?

Surely going into Home App and removing that scene (if it goes wrong) would fix any issues you might encounter.

Cause I have to remove Aqara Hub from Home App to add it to HA.
And… I’ve already done it. All the scenes from Aqara App are not visible in HA.

I had to try. Thanks. We can leave this topic for other users that would like to get info about this.

I would love to know if it is possible to integrate M2’s IR Blaster as a remote in HA!

I’ve figured out a workaround but only for the AC. Unfortunately my ceiling lamp is configured as a custom device in Aqara Home so it’s not visible in Google Home.
But if you have devices pre-configured (like my AC) in Aqara App then it should work.

Steps to setup:

  1. Connect Aqara Home to Google Home.
  2. Configure Google Assistant SDK in HA.
  3. Create a script “Send text command” using Google Assistant SDK to send command “turn on the air conditioner”.
  4. Create a button to run the script.

Thank you very much, worked for me, but also only with AC. And I’m still looking for a solution to add custom IR remotes to HA. Hope developers will add official Aqara integration with IR support
