Aqara M3 Hub - Adding device and usable entities

Hello everyone,

New to HA and am having difficulty adding my M2 and M3 hubs to HA. I reset the zigbee child devices and added those in manually, but the hubs are proving difficult. M2 Hub sometimes shows up within the homekit device add but hangs on the adding process and never completes. The M3 hub doesn’t even show up.

Also, would i be able to use the IR remote and speaker features of the hubs in HA? I have seen conflicting information on that.

Thanks

bump I have similar issues

I found the below useful to add the hub as a matter device but, to your point, I have also not yet been able to find a way to control the speaker or IR remote from HA.

  1. Open The Home Assistant app on your phone.
  2. Go to Settings > Devices & services.
  3. On the Devices tab, select the Add devicebutton, and select Add Matter device.
  4. In the dialog, select No, it’s new..
  5. Scan the QR-code of the Matter device with your phone camera or select More options… to manually enter the Commission code.

THIS CODE you get from the aqara app by accessing the hub’s card and navigating to Matter>Matter Pairing Code

Thank you! I ended up using Amazon’s return policy for the M# hub and giving up on the M2 integration.

I bought a Broadlink M4 Mini (Amazon.com: BroadLink RM4 Mini IR Universal Remote Control (2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Only), Smart Home Automation Wi-Fi Infrared Blaster for TV, AC, STB Audio, Works with Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT : Tools & Home Improvement) which integrates easily into H and successfully set up IR controls with it. I am still trying to figure out a way to easily add a speaker to HA though
