Thanks Kennet, this worked!
Hi rlust, how did you get yours working again? I have tried factory resetting and rebooting and HA will not discover it again.
Factory reset of the sensor will most likely also resets the wifi credentials.
It is important that you add the device to your Wifi network/Aqara app. If it is an IOS device it gets added to the Homekit. (not the HA but the Apple one)
Remove it from your Apple Homekit.
Add the device to the Home Assistant Homekit controller integration.
And it is in this last step you normally have to power cycle the device to make it discoverable after it has been removed from Homekit
Ya I have it added back to the Aqara app and it is on the network. Nothing I do seems to get HA to discover it though.
It worked great during the initial setup but now HA will not show it. Wondering if there is something in a file I need to delete perhapsā¦
Is there anyone familiar with setting up zones in FP2 who can confirm whether itās possible to designate a zone to mark a person as āabsentā only when they are detected exiting exclusively from the designated exit zone? I currently have a zone that includes a blind spot in one corner of the FP2, and itās marking people as āabsent,ā even though they cannot physically exit from the door thatās within its view. thank you
Iām pretty sure that is not possible. The exit areas are just areas where the FP2 is faster to remove someone from the zone. If you leave the view of the FP2 (even via teleportation), then the FP2 will remove the person from the zone.
lol even by teleportation oh man i spat my coffee out reading that
ok thanks for that good to know!
Itās confusing if you have two zones next to each other how you woudl put the exit entrance in. as blocks are wider than the door
Iām trying to figure out something similar.
My presence sensor catches the door for my bathroom. But most of the bathroom is a blind spot.
I have a bathroom zone and the plan is to use that zone to turn on the bathroom lights but when I go into the blindspot I donāt want it turning everything off to save power.
I was planning to use from/to state conditions. But it seems these arenāt obviously usable outside of the initial trigger.
The logic Iām trying to use is such.
When bedroom zone goes from Detected to Clear AND bathroom zone goes from Detected to Clear Do Nothing.
When bedroom zone goes from Detected to Clear but bathroom zone doesnāt change it should turn off all the appropriate things.
Since in the first scenario the assumption should be the person is still in the blindspot.
But in the second scenario the assumption should be the person has in fact left the room.
Edit: In this scenario the bedroom zone is the overall presence detection that will be flagged as detected regardless of what zone youāre in.
Edit 2: I had initially been trying to do it as a single automation but it seems the easiest way to do it is with a second automation because then I can use the from/to options for state.
When I step into the Bathroom Zone it turns on the light for the bathroom and turns off the Bedroom Automations
I detect the blindspot by checking that both the Bathroom Zone and the Bedroom Zone are clear.
When in the blindspot I can shut off the bedroom lights leaving the bathroom lights on.
I detect leaving the bathroom by checking that only the Bathroom Zone clears.
When leaving the bathroom the bathroom lights turn off, and the main automation turns back on.
Did you figure out the unknown error? After removing mine I get the same error and a factory reset has not worked this far.
Hello,
I installed 2 FP2 sensors (1 in living room 1 in kitchen; firmware: 1.2.0_0002.0037) and connected them to HA.
Made 3 zoneās on each of them (used to turn on/off lights in that zones), leaving a great part of the room without zoneās.
Most of the time they work more or less as espected.
When someone is in reach of the sensor and not in a zone: in HA sensor 1 is āonā, when someone enters a zone, the sensor of that zone is going āonā. Attaching some automations works good.
Problem is that the sensor sometimes gives false positive as well as false negative detectons.
I tried all 3 sensitivity settings, all 3 ādistance of close inductionā settings, but these false detections still come every now and then.
I now made a scene in the aqara app to reset absense status. I want HA to trigger that via google assistant voice control.
Does anyone know if that is possible and if yes what are the commands needed?
Iām pretty sure you cannot run a scene (or an automation) made in the Aqara app from HA. HA is using HomeKit to get information from each device, and the scenes and automations are global. I donāt see anyway to expose the scenes/automations from the Aqara app to HomeKit. On my iPhone I was able to add a scene to Siri, so maybe if youāre on an Android device you could do something similar to get it into the Google Assistant Voice Control?
I suspect if somebody spent a bunch of time with Wireshark they could probably reverse engineer all the calls that the Aqara app is making to the devices and then build something to talk to it from HA, but it would be a constant chicken and mouse game as Aqara updated things.
******* UPDATED *********
Now sorted following a hard reset of all three FP2s.
There was a setting in the app to do that until quite recently. There seems to have been an update to the app (V4.0.6) that has removed the āreset to absenceā setting and replaced it with an āAI Learningā function. No matter how many times I try it, I cannot get it to work on any of my FP2s
On my iPhone I was able to add a scene to Siri
What command did you use for that? Maybe I can use that voor google assistant.
With the google assistant integration in HA it is possible to send āvoice commandā from HA. Works with all devices that can take commands from google assistant. Only is the exact text for the commands needed.
In the scene list there is a button near the bottom that is the Siri icon:
click that and then youāll get a list of all your scenes with a button that says ADD TO SIRI.
OK, only siri also.
Is there a way to send siri commands from a HA automation? I did not find anything, but maybe someone else knows.
Indeed the new version of the app does not have that āreset to absenceā, but it still is possible to run it as scene or automation.
Opration of ai-learning failed several times.
Try a hard reset of the device. Worked for me.
What does the new function do in fact? I am just glad the sensors are working more or less as espected. Took me over a week to tune all settings. Donāt like to start over again, unless the new function is realy āspecialā.
I presume itās just an upgrade of the āreset to absenceā setting. It seems to do the same thing when activated.
OK, thanks. Than I leave it aloneā¦
