Aqara on a zignee network with conbee 2

Hi all,

I am trying to add a aqara sensor to my conbee 2 zigbee network. I could connect the sensor to the network and it works fine. The sensors are planned for an installation in my garden shed, 20m far from the house .

I installed an ikea zigbee bulb in the garden shed to expand the zigbee mesh network and the bulb works finde from my house. The idea was now, to place the aqara sensor near to the ike bulb but the sensor is not sending data. Does anyone know, why the bulb repeater is not working for the sensor?

Seams to be that the aqara devices are a little bit stubborn regarding the route to the zigbee gateway, or does someone have an idea how to solve this issue? Maybe an ikea signal repeater can fix the issue…

Thanks for support,

Aqara devices don’t switch routes after binding. So if you want them to work you have to bind them in the shed.

And to the bulb.

Hi all,

I have not tried this yet and i cannot imagine that this will work, but I will try tomorrow.

So I have to reset the sensor, then I put the conbee into “lerning mode” , run into the shed where the bulb is placed and pair the sensor… interesting method!

Thanks , I will report the result!

Not really true in most cases, but they can be very stubborn to rehost.

I guess no remote access to HA?

No need to make it a sport. You can bring it all inside. Just pair directly with the bulb via ZHA’s “Add devices via this device” or z2m’s “Permit Join” drop down. The stroll out and put the bulb/sensor where they really need to live.

Hi all,

thanks for support, it works!

I’ll add this link in here - it is linked in the z2m docs
