I just bought an Aqara P2 Motion Sensor and SkyConnect Dongle with thread border router enabled. However, when I try to add the sensor as a Matter device, I still get the error “Your device requires a thread border router”.
Am I missing steps? Help much appreciated.

FYI,
So I got one of these Aqara D&W Sensor P2 and thought I would share my experience with pairing to HA Thread/Matter (I have no other Thread network). I’m only using SiLab multiprotocol Add-On and SkyConnect for Thread networking and using HA Matter Server.
After pulling the tab from the battery, the LED (mine was blue-ish) starting “breathing” as expected. I got sidetracked on a problem and I ended up having to powerdown/up HA. By the time I got back to the P2, the LED was no longer breathing…
There are lot of things that can go wrong, so this writeup may not necessarily work for everyone.

Most likely you missed the manual Thread credentials sync necessary currently. Make sure to follow the steps outlined here: Thread - Home Assistant
