Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor and HomeAssistant

I have the latest Home Assistant setup on a Raspberry Pi 3B. I also have a zigbee / zwave USB dongle like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GJ826F8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just bought a Aqara temperature / humdity sensor and would like to use it on my HA. Before I bought off amazon, I read in one of the reviews of this device that someone was able to get this working with zigbee2mqtt. I looked for this in the Add On section but could not find one for Zigbee, found one for ZWave though. I have other zigbee devices that just connected up to my HA in the past, however this temperature sensor does not want to do that, not sure if I need something else or not.

Which sensor? Xiaomi keep making devices and calling them the same thing, it is very confusing.

I have this one which works fine on zigbee2mqtt Xiaomi WSDCGQ01LM control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT. The zigbee2mqtt site lists at least two others that will work too. Aqara WSDCGQ11LM control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT and Aqara WSDCGQ12LM control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT

Which addon section? How exactly are you trying to connect? Which of the (at least 3) zigbee integrations are you using?

Thanks for getting back to me and helping me figure this out. No idea it was this confusing

I have this sensor: Aqara WSDCGQ11LM control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT

The add on section under Supervisor, Add On Store

Not sure which zigbee integration I’m using, its the one where I can see this icon in the Configuration>Integrations

OK that looks like ZHA. I haven’t used ZHA, but the docs are Zigbee Home Automation - Home Assistant

I would assume you would do the same as zigbee2mqtt to pair the device to ZHA

Press and hold the reset button on the device for ± 5 seconds (until the blue light starts blinking). After this the device will automatically join. If this doesn’t work, try with a single short button press.

Ya, I got it working. It had been such a long time since I added a device to HA that I totally missed the big orange + button!

Thanks for the help and the quick reply.

Do you happen to know if we can change these sensors units? I would like the pressure in inHg instead of hPa
