Aqara u200 smart lock and Home assistant

Hi,
I’m considering purchasing the Aqara U200 smart lock to use with Home Assistant. Here’s my current setup:

  • Home Assistant running on a mini PC
  • SkyConnect dongle (Zigbee + Thread support)
  • Echo Show 15 (2nd Gen), which can act as a Thread Border Router

I’d like to use the lock with all of its features, including Apple Home Key, remote control, and full integration with HA.

My questions are:

  1. Can I add the U200 to Home Assistant directly via SkyConnect?
    Would this give me full access, including remote control and advanced features?

  2. Alternatively, can I use the Echo Show 15 as a Thread Border Router to add the lock to Home Assistant?
    Is this integration even possible?

  3. Or would I need an Aqara Smart Hub M3 to unlock the full feature set of the Aqara U200 especially Apple Home Key support and remote access?

Would I be able to access the lock remotely even without an Aqara M3 Hub?
I already have an Echo Show 15 second gen.

Depends what you want to do remotely. I think as of right now the u200 will only allow remote lock/unlock via HA. So if you plan to to remotely admin users and all the other features then you’re SOL.
