I am trying to make my mailbox smart with an Aqara vibration and an Aqara contact sensor.
Now the door sensor iss setup to register when we check the mailbox for new mail and this works great. Both sensors are now running via z2m.
The vibration sensor, was supposed to tell us when the slit has been opened for new mail to be delivered
Now my issues are that either the vibration is set to be too sensitive (high) and wind and such is registering or at the mid level it can miss mail if mailman is very slow/carful at delivering the mail (which has happened a few days times).
I tried putting the sensor both on the side of the slit-lid mechanic thing so it should move even on slightest movement and in the button of the box so it would notice when mail has been dropped in.
Then I got the (I thought) bright idea to use the angles instead but I can get this to work at all.
Anyone got any ideas or tips how I go about doing this? Another door sensor would be hard if not impossible to fit on the slit part.
