Hi guys, I have an Aqara Z1 Pro 4 gang version. I understand that the 4th switch acts like a wireless button, while the other 3 switches are hard-wired to my lights. However, when looking at the device expose in zigbee2mqtt, there isn’t a state for the 4th switch. Is there anything I am missing?
You’re not missing anything. Wireless buttons send events and don’t maintain a state.
Technically, the state belongs to the relay, not the switch itself. This means if you set decoupled mode on the other 3 buttons, they will no longer control the state unless you set an automation.
PS - let me know how you get on with this one. Have 2 still sitting in a box since December but haven’t yet had time to play around with them.
Hi,
Did you ever figure out how to utilize the 4th wireless button? I’m just trying to get it to detect single press, so I can toggle a seperate switch elsewhere.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
It will behave like any other zigbee wireless button. Once you press it, you will see an event fired in the logs which you can use in your automations.
If you’re using ZHA, then you can listed to it under dev tools & setting the listener to zha_events.
If you’re using Z2M, it will be populated either as an action entity (if you have lecacy set to true), or else you can use the newer events or MQTT device triggers. Read this for further explanation.
Thank you so much. This is perfect.
