Are there any Zigbee Light sensors?

Hi there,

I simply need a Zigbee light sensor the gives me a Lux or Lumen or whatever I can work with.

I see that motion sensors can do that, but afaik they only report the value of the Light sensor when there is movement.

Anyone has an idea how to achieve that?

the ones at https://everythingsmarthome.co.uk/ do lux and update without the need to detect movement

Philips Hue too, I think.

The Ikea VALLHORN motion sensors also constantly reports, every few seconds, the Illuminance in lux.

HI there,

I ordered the Everything Presence One, because it runs with USB and has a steady power supply

Thanks for the recommendations. I hope this works

Unfortunately Hue sensors only update Lux on occupancy.

Mine seem to work:

They may update on occupancy as well, but they seem to update periodically on their own.

I’ll test my again, but the lux update is definitely not reactive as motion.

That’s true. It looks like every four minutes or so. If you add in motion the graph is more active.

Always can add an automation. At least we know now :grinning:

I just bought a few of these in zigbee and they work fine…

@Sir_Goodenough Can you explain how to use these? Do they require the Tuya hub?

The product page says zigbee, so likely to work with zigbee2mqtt on HA out of the box. Only zigbee coordinator needed.

I just want to give a little heads up

I ended up with a Unifi UP Sense, since I already own some Unifi U6 Pro Wifi APs. They are needed for the UP Sense to connect to via Bluetooth
It reports the Light every 5 Minutes which is sufficient enough for me

It is able to function as a Temperature, Humidity, Motion and even Door Sensor. So I mounted it on a window and even saved a motion sensor there lol
