Are there Matter recommended water leak and smoke / carbon monoxide / gas detectors?

Hi,

Looking for Matter enabled water leak and smoke / carbon monoxide / gas leak / and smoke detectors?
If not available in Matter, what is the 2nd best available? wifi or zigbee?

Matter is just a communication protocol and does not have anything to do with the transmission technique. Matter does support Wi-Fi, but also wired LAN and the relative new Thread network (successor of ZigBee).

As of now, I do not think there is a water leak sensor that uses Matter. I do not think this is even a device class as of Matter 1.4.

The most popular smoke / CO detector is from Heimann, although there should be a few more according to the CSA.

If you want to look any possible Matter devices up, I recommend this list.

How much do you think you’d actually pay to buy a Carbon Monoxide sensor with Matter and Thread support?

I found the Heiman C1-M supports Matter, Thread, and Zigbee by using a Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 chip, and is certified in the US by Intertek. Amazon has the C1-W model which isn’t Matter unfortunately.

Alibaba does have it, but I’d have to buy a medium quantity even though I only need 1.

I’m considering buying their minimum quantity, then selling the extras on eBay or wherever. Do you think you might buy one if I did that? Or a few? Just trying to gauge interest. I know I’m super interested, but unsure of others.
