Are you satisfied with ping/nmap device trackers?

I’ve been using nmap and ping to determine home presence of Android and iOS devices but it works really bad. There are many times where I’m at home but hass reports ‘not home’.
Just wondering if this some issue on my side or a general issue with these tools and mobile devices.

Nmap works fine with both Android and ios here.

it appears that nmap wasn’t even installed (silly me)
