@Ionut here’s a video of the telegram gif notification
Thank you, i can do something better in Ariela
If you give the notification a tag it should stop building up the same notification. When you add a tag to it if there is already a motion alert notification on your phone then another one comes through it will just overwrite the previous one.
Sweet, let me know if you’d like me to test things out!
Notifications seems to be hit or miss. Some times it gets sent other times it doesn’t. I have confirmed that HA is getting the correct information, but for some reason it is not sent. It does not seem location based or enter / leave based. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?
Ionut, maybe you can look at GPS tracker code (I believe that it is open) to see how it can tell the accuracy of the GPS reading? I believe that it uses the cell tower data to test the accuracy of the reading. I believe this could help on false triggers?
Ariela already takes into account the accuracy. You can even set an accuracy in meters, and if the location accuracy retrieved is bigger then the set one Ariela will not going send any HA updates
Then it must be something else. HA has the correct information but Notifications are not always sent. I would think if it changes to a new location that is in the zone the notification would be sent. What can I look for to figure out why it is not?
Can you confirm that using developer tools you receive the notification every time?
I can’t see everytime. I can see the automation state and it shows that an arrive and leave were activated but no notification sent. Is there another place I should look?
So you confirm that using developer tools , when sending notifications you do not always received them? Do you see something in the HA logs when this happen?
Indeed with mobile_app enabled, but I understand you found the cause
The notification issues can’t be replicated anymore
Cool that you are looking into notification sounds. Great would be if the type of sound can be passed along in the service call from HA to Ariela, to make it dynamic based on what kind of notification I’m sending.
How i think to implement this new feature:
Hi Ionut, does Ariela still have the ability to add multiple WiFi SSIDs for the home location? I seem to be unable to find it anymore.
Also how does the ‘use internal address when on VPN’ setting work? When I turn this option on, it just seems to use the internal address even when on 3G/4G (external).
I am not seeing a lot entry for notification. What I was checking was status of my phone. HA was showing it at home, gym, beach etc. I would only get some of these notifications sent. I did not think log entries made each time a status changed.
Yes, the future has been moved to Ariela → Settings → Server connection
Maybe you can try something like this:
If you do like this at least we can find out the problem: device_tracker or notification or none (maybe the automation you did is not triggered? )
Indeed, this option enabled will use everytime the internal IP address. Maybe also i could add a detection and if connection is not over VPN, use the external address even if the VPN option is enabled.
As in does currently or will? I don’t have the option for SSID in there at there moment.
Notifications are always sent manually.
Notification was sent that I left house. No notification when I arrived at gym. Error log says error while executing automation. Unable to find service. Same mobile app service that it just found. As far as I can tell my automation yaml is identical with the exception of the zone and enter / leave.
Ionut got it wrong. It is in Setting -> common -> Home wifi Network. There is plus icon on the right conner
