Ariela - Home Assistant Android Client

Yeah thats what I thought, but I dont have that either. I havent seen the whole Home WiFi network option in a few releases. I’ve got:

Allow Background running
Device Name
Full Screen Mode
Keep screen On
Scroll Long Text
Cards Columns
Start at Boot
Startup boot mode
Start after update
Vibrate UI Controls

You are right. I’ve updated to the latest version and the option is not visible anymore.

Anybody else having issues with Areila widgets? I have several widgets that used to work fine and now they seem broken. When you push the button, they do not seem to work. If I go into Ariela and turn the lights/switches on, the widget picture updates to the correct state, but you can no longer use the widget button to activate anything.

Just got a false trigger from Mobile app. Said I was at a location and I was at home connected to my Wifi.

I have the Name of the device set to SAMSUNG_SM_G900A and I’m seeing MQTT topics sent like the following. It basically adds the name in all caps then again in all lowercase.

{"name":"SAMSUNG_SM_G900Asamsung_sm_g900a Bluetooth Sensor","state_topic":"homeassistant\/sensor\/android_samsung_sm_g900a_bluetooth\/attributes","value_template":"{{ value_json.state }}","json_attributes_topic":"homeassistant\/sensor\/android_samsung_sm_g900a_bluetooth\/attributes"}

This is the error message I am getting when notification fails “Error while executing automation automation.arrived_home_notification. Service not found for call_service at pos 1: Unable to find service notify/mobile_app_pixel_xl” Any idea on how to fix?

I know, this was added because of the new mobile_app sensor support.

That’s so strange. But you are saying that sometimes you do not get this error and notification is send?

Yes. What is even stranger is this happens within minutes of working. I leave my house and it works (sometimes). I arrive at a location in my zone and it fails. Again sometimes. For awhile it was working almost every time. Yesterday I was getting notifications when I was home and not going anywhere.

@robbie can you give us some help here? Did you see this kind of problem before? Thank you.

It would be better if you add a detection to see if VPN on the phone is active or not. At least for me, VPN isn’t always on and when it’s not I can’t access HA because Ariela tries to use the internal IP address.

Next version of Ariela will include this check.

Also next version of Ariela will support streaming when clicking push notifications:

Checking further on the widgets, widgets for automations work fine. Widgets for switches do not activate when pushed, but show the change in state when activated thru HA or Ariela.

I have removed and added the widgets back and they still do not function any different than stated above.

having the same problem with widgets and notification entities. nothing happens when pressed. I included api: in the configuration.yaml too

Please share Ariela logs so i can check it out. Thank you.

Thanks for the quick follow up. I shared the log file via email.

Hey Ionut

I was testing some additional parameters for notifications:

With this I get the following error:

Error while executing automation automation.alert_doors_open_test. Invalid data for call_service at pos 1: extra keys not allowed @ data['tag']

Could you show us how it should look like to have such a data template, a tag and color for example?

Just got a notification that I in at a certain location. HA says I am at home.
