Hi, as I’m playing around a lot with trying to build a couple of satellites for Assist, I realised that (probably just like many others out there), I’ve got plenty of perfectly good media players (Google Nest speakers) around the house, that I can TTS to from my custom Assist responses.
But wouldn’t it be great if it was possible to choose existing media players for the response somehow in the text to speech integration?
- Would make building satellites easier, as you only need a mic (simple ESPhome devices)
- The Google Nests, Amazon Echos etc are actually decent quality speakers for announcements
- Helps reduce e-waste by using what we have already
