Assistant button for voice only

Is there A way to create button that brings up assist, but only for voice commands? In tablet normal assist pop up fills whole screen with keyboard…

Its a shame, voice assistant available but cant use it :frowning:

What kind of tablet is it?
I know android can have floating mini keyboard.
You might even be able to disable the keyboard in the menu, I know it could be done on the work tablets

This is old huawei meadiapad t3 tablet, gotta see if i can disable or change keyboard somehow… I also tried to change assist’s focus point, so it wont be focused to text input field, but couldnt get it working

I just realised you can make google keyboard float over in small form. Great. It also has feature that hides keyboard but brings up small navbar. Using this navbar you can actually use android voice regognition (microphone button) in it and talk your command to text in assist input dialog  Then you just need to press send button.

This way, if you dont want/cant use home assistants voice recognition, you can use googles

Hi Tomi, like this it starts listening right away on my tablet and does not display the keypad.

I presume you use homeassistant app ? In app it wont pop up keyboard. I use fully kiosk app in tablet.

Correct: this is with the android companion app.

Unless you are using special features from the FKB you can achieve the same with the HA companion app.

This what was in my mind next. Im using some zoom options in fully kiosk app, im not sure if i can utilize those with wallpanel.

Allmost with the app, but why does it have blue empty bar in top of the screen and white bar in bottom of the screen when in full screen mode :frowning: I needed to zoom 75% out)

If it helps: you can zoom in the app but also, with browser_mod you make the app look like FKB
