Hi there,
I recently purchased a Voice PE and am very happy with it. However, I noticed that the 3.5mm jack seems geared toward users building a system from scratch. Many advanced users, like myself, already have established audio systems they would like to integrate.
It would be fantastic if existing media players (e.g., Sonos, LMS, or other smart speakers) could be configured as “virtual speakers” for the device. This would allow:
- Wake-up sounds to play through the selected media player.
- Automatic volume adjustments (e.g., lowering media playback when voice commands are detected).
- Voice responses to output through the media player instead of the device’s built-in or external speakers.
In my case, I have speakers installed throughout my house (using LMS/Musikserver4home with Loxone) and would love to use them as outputs for the assistant. This integration would also open possibilities for embedding the assistant into existing setups, such as drywall installations, without relying on standalone speakers.
Thank you for considering this idea—I believe it would make the product even more versatile and appealing to power users with complex setups.
