I have the Asus DSL-AX82U model and I installed into HA the AsusWRT integration.
Looking for the entities, it seems to me that I didn’t found what I need, i.e. the internet state.
This info is available in the router interface if I click on Network map → internet state icon → then on the right panel click on DSL.
I have two values: 151 Kbps in download and 21600 Kbps in upload.
I’d like to have these two values on HA, is it possible?
If you want to know if the internet link is functional, I’d create a ping sensor to ping a server on the outside (preferrably one from your ISP if they ping back). That is not router dependent. But it won’t tell you up- and download values.
Ok, but I have the issue that AsusRouter taken from HACS get me AsusRouter update entity only.
Maybe the stock firmware is not supported by asusrouter vaskivskyi integration???
I think my issue is that it does not let me configure the integration … where do I have to configure with the IP of my router?
If the HACS integration does not connect to the router, it does not get me entities.
I mean, I don’t see the same image you posted for your HA.
IF you have installed AsusRouter integration correct, you find it under /Settings/Device-Service#Integrations
Also make sure you have “Advance” enabled in your /Profile “page”
After a while I started to understand how home assistant works.
So I want to resume this topic explaining what I meant about internet download speed of my Asus.
If I connect to my modem and go into the menu and click first on “1”, then on “2”, I see the real speed of my internet connection (“3”), that in this moment is 151619 kbps in download and 21600 kbps in upload:
Well, I can’t see (or figure out) these values among the sensors discovered by home assistant, in both the integration I downloaded, i.e. AsusRouter and ASUSWRT.
You still havent provided any info in regards to your Routers firmware-version, And not showing any i.e screen shots from HA
So Noone can’t possible know what you are “doing” or which entities etc you have(enabled) in your Integration
EDIT: BTW , Your Device does not seems to be “Supported” , So you might have to request support for it. Either in GitHub
Or in the Official Integration-Page here in the Forum
Hello. If you are still interested in seeing the info for your DSL connection in AsusRouter custom integration, please open a feature request on GitHub:
I don’t have access to any DSL device, but with your help, this feature should be easy enough to implement.
Sorry this was meant for a different topic, but I’ll leave it here as maybe someone had any idea:
Anyone else experiencing issues where after a random amount of hours the integration can no longer connect with the router?
I had to start from scratch a few weeks ago, but for the life of me I can’t get any of the Asuswrt integrations to behave stable. Thought it was integration related, so tried Asus Router this time, but same behaviour.
Cannot get clients from ‘192.168.0.2’: (‘Reached maximum allowed timeout for a single connection attempt: 425.0. The last error: (“Cannot connect to 192.168.0.2 on port 8443. Failed in _send_request with error: Cannot connect to host 192.168.0.2:8443 ssl:False [Connect call failed (\'192.168.0.2\', 8443)]”, None)’, None)
After that I’m unable to reload the integration and I have to reboot the router to get it to work again… Router is an AX88U on latest stable merlin version.
I’m really puzzled as nothing has changed on the router/network side of things.
