Nice project! Using the Shelly DALI devices is more for retrofitting, and basically going against the purpose of DALI. DALI is a Bus, meaning two single wires that daisy-chain up to 64 DALI devices together. These 64 DALI devices can all be single addressed, dimmed in brightness often down to 0.1%, combined in groups to control at the same time, and even allow for tuneable white and colour control.
Shelly does NOT support these features (no tuneable white, no colour control, no addresses), just plain broadcast. So you basically make a DALI light dumb, and use one Shelly DALI Dimmer per DALI light.
Atios SmartCore in comparison supports all DALI features:
- address 64x individual DALI lights
- support an additional 64x DALI-2 Sensors such as Keypads, Motion, Lux etc.
- supports DALI Blinds actuators (see here)
- integrated DALI Power Supply
- integrated DALI Configurator via its built-in Webinterface (very easy to configure)
- advanced DALI configuration support via Lunatone Cockpit Windows Software
Also Atios SmartCore offers additional advantages such as:
- 12x binary inputs, that can be connected to anything between 12V DC to 230V AC push buttons, motion detectors or window contacts, and assigned to DALI lights or one of the
- 12x relay outputs, can be used to switch non DALI loads such as outlets, blinds, door / gate locks, HVAC equipment
- Ethernet and WiFi for communication
- 12-24V DC or Power over Ethernet for power supply options
- HomeKit or Matter for easy integration into different platforms
