Anyone experience with hardware solutions that can use sendspin. I am looking for some solutions at home that can bridge my ‘dumb’ bluetooth speakers for multiple audio conttrol and also my existing stereo.
ideally a device like HA voice , but with the capability to act as a audio gateway for HQ stereo that can be plugged into a stereo set and/or connected to bluetooth speakers.
I have purchased a ESP Muse lux speaker but was not quite happy with the sound quality.
Having this kind of bridge (could probably based on esp32 with HQ DAC?) would boost the adoption of audio assistant and sensspin…
what was wrong with the sound quality?, i have the first version of that speaker and it sounds like any other average bluetooth speak in that size
i found this post because i out of curiosity searced for muxe luxe with sendspin to see if he added that. did you try it as bluetooth speaker? or flashed other firmware?, or how did you test sound?
if you have one of the old chromecast audio dongles i believe they should work too, or DIY a esp + pcm5102a (dac with audio jack out), the question is if you can DIY and if you only need mediaplayer or would also like voice assistant?
Thanks for your support RealDeco. I do have an old chromecast, but was not happy with the huge amount of unsollicited call homes to google as my firewall reported. So will remain unconnected. And no, I truly don’t understand the thrill about voice assistant. As I am sure able to do some DIY, I will investigate if the sound quality of the ESP Muse lux can be improoved.
