Aurora one vs lightwaverf

Hi

I have almost made my choice for the smart switch. I’m between aurora one and light wave rf.

Have any of you integrated those with HA? Any feedback?

Thanks

I’ve used lots of lighting systems and eventually gravitated to Lightwave rf. for many reasons:

  • it’s the only brand with nice looking switches (I have the brushed ones)
  • it does power monitoring out of the bag.
  • it’s api is fully open.
  • it doesn’t rely on cloud servers.
  • doing multi switching is a doddle, the second multi switch is actually linked via the bridge and not requiring feed wires
  • you can configure one switch to switch everything off etc. Natively. Handy if you want the switch by your front door to do all off.

I’ve not had once ounce of trouble, I use the lightwaverf2 custom add on as it exposes a load more attributes as appears to the HomeKit way.

I also graph my spend on lights and sockets as well like this;

They are expensive but you get what you pay for imo

Sounds good. How easy is to integrate it with HA? I’m planning to buy just the switch and buying the hub

Also, does it require a neutral wire?

Thanks

Nope doesn’t require a neutral, they are essentially dimmers.

Yep easy to setup, I use this https://github.com/bigbadblunt/homeassistant-lightwave2
Documented as well.

Ok, my bulbs are not dimmable. Would it still work?

Compared to Shelly, is this a better option?

Thanks
