Australia - Electrically Certified Hardware

I’ve got Pixie wall dimmers and I can’t find any simple way to integrate them into HA.

Can anyone point me to the certificates for RCA/SAA approved Sonoff devices?
I can find the DualR3 certificate here:

But cant seem to find any others.

Has there been any efforts to get the minir4 (mini extreme) approved for Australia that anyone is aware of?

If you still have these available, I’m interested. Particularly in the Downlights and Switches, but am happy to discuss buying them all if that’s easier/simpler.

Sorry mate all gone

That’s what I get for not checking this thread more regularly.

yeah they went pretty quick too on ebay so not bad. i would have give them to you for free! next time i upgrade all my lights! lol

That’s the irony: in most cases, they’re pretty rock solid and are still the most vibrant/saturated of all the smart bulbs. Not to mention they have the widest kelvin range. Though, the CRI of the older bulbs is fairly ordinary. I’m told the newer ones have a much higher CRI, but I haven’t tested that myself yet.

Not specific to Sonoff, but you can search the EESS / ERAC database
https://eessplatform.eess.gov.au/prweb/PRAuth/Public

I find it best to run an advanced search and to query by Trade Name.
Sonoff doesn’t return anything, but Shelly does.

It’s odd that the certificate number in the document you linked (GMA-510112) returns no results in either the eessplatform or the legacy ERAC database.
It does however show up as valid on the JASANZ certification check, so it’s at least valid.
Global mark (the issuer) is supposed to register the certification in eess.

Are there any Australian smoke alarms that are HA compatible? Thanks

Google Nest. Not sure that counts as “Australian” but it’s certainly approved here.

Great alarms BTW - I was so fed up with false alarms and low battery warnings until I found those.

I’m looking at installing CT clamp energy monitoring for our whole home. I’d like to monitor total power usage plus some individual circuits for AC, oven, GPOs, etc.

I have two questions, if anyone can help.

  1. Do CT clamp energy monitors need to be Australian certified? They are powered by 9V DC and CT clamps are non contact.
  2. Can I install the clamps myself?

If I need a certified device, can anyone recommend a 6 channel monitor?

I doubt you will find one that meets the legal requirements.

ie: 240V mains powered (whilst also being Aus certified)

My solution is to use a relay interface onto a standard Aussie smoke alarm and connect that to a HA compatible device of your liking such as a Shelly input unit or whatever.

What were you thinking of using? Most decent units will require a voltage input to get a better reading combined with the current flow read by the CT.

Whoops, I was looking at

Edit: it is powered by 9v AC, not DC. That’s how it gets the voltage.
