"Authentication expired for Smart Life" after reboot

I logged out on my phone app - logged back in - & the QR code scan worked.

This was the solution for me… Thank you!

I restored back to an earlier backup and had the Reauth Tuya pop-up but QR code kept saying expired.

I rebooted HA again and it worked.

This happened to me on Noc 26, 2024. The QR code expiration is because the QR code is only valid for 3 minutes and Home Assistance Tuya integration creates the QR code on startup, right after you boot HA. So you must do the scan thing right after boot.

The fact that I have to do ANYTHING in the Tuya app (even if infrequently) after rebooting HA means all the Tuya crap has to be removed and trashed. (or maybe it can be reflashed or otherwise repurposed.)

I know how to figure this stuff out, but could you imagine if I had installed this a clients homes? It would create a lifetime non-paying customer support job for me. This is why I install tons on random stuff in my own home and then live within for a year otr so. It is easy to see what works and what causes little problems.
