"Authentication expired for Smart Life" after reboot

The Tuya SmartLife disconnect after reboot since the latest update to:

  • Core: 2024.2.5
  • Supervisor: 2024.02.1
  • Operating System: 12.0
  • Interface utilisateur: 20240207.1

Connection works but I have to rescan QR each time. Anyone else have the same?

No clue where to look as I don’t see any particular issue in the log.
It was working fine prior to last core & supervisor update 2 days ago.

I’m getting the same issue now, with no recent HA updates to point to a cause, did you find a solution?

The same here for me.

Wait… what the…
This has been happening to people since March?
And no one “how to solve” yet?

Well It’s happening to me too now.

Checking my list of theories I noticed that I did have more than 50 devices connected and the limit seems to be 50.
So I had to delete a couple of unused light bulbs and then it started working again.

This Issue/thread was closed some days ago with the comment:

We’ve been informed by the Tuya team that they have fixed the issue on their end, causing the occasional signature errors.
Closing this issue on our end.

But I still get the authentication error TODAY when upgrading from 2024.6.4 to 2024.7.1 !

+1 on this still being an issue

+1 …I also have this issue

I messed up and had to restore a backup from 10h before. This error showed up after that. The weird thing is it says “error - 2 weeks ago” on the error message, but I did not have this before the backup restore. Scanning the QR code in the app only kicks back that it’s expired.

+1 I also have this issue

I just did some digging around and got it working on my end. I restarted HA and tried verifying the QR code first thing once HA was live again, and that worked. HA has been restarted many times since this issue first appeared for me, so it seems to have something to do with the QR code becoming outdated if not verified first thing. But I really have no idea how this works.

Restarting HA and verifying the QR code as soon as HA became live again fixed this for me.

i also lose smallife on restart of HA and have to re-add the acount.

  • Core2024.7.3
  • Supervisor2024.06.2
  • Operating System12.4
  • Frontend20240710.0

Thank you for this. Generating and using the qrcode immediately after a reboot resolved it for me.

July 30th, just got that message after doing a restore after a core update that seemed to have killed my Conbee II stick. Not good.

Yeah, I also have this issue. I have reauth several times, and evertime HA is restarted, it looses the auth again. I’m on the last version. All updated.

Same here. I had a long power outage today. My UPS ran out of juice.
HA restarted after power came back. Smartlife was in error. Logs showed “expired token”. I had to run through the steps of re-adding User Code in the Smart Life integration and scanning QR code.

Currently running on Core 2024.7.1

It’s happening to me, too. following

Same problem here - loses authentication after reboot of HA
