Automate office at work without LAN access?

I’d like to automate my office at work and have WiFi access but not not a hardwired connection. What do you guys think would be the best practice to get a simple setup running?

What are you trying to accomplish? HA shouldn’t need a internet connection for a lot of functions.

Basic stuff really. Most presence based lights on/off and maybe a few bells and whistles. Nothing like my home setup but I have full access to that so I’m not restricted.

First, have a “theoretical” chat with somebody you know in the IT department, check that what you’re considering isn’t the kind of thing that’ll get you sacked.

+1 @Tinkerer

Why local only?
Maybe use external MQTT server.
I imagine hardwired sensors and pi camera which keeps all fairly self contained. RasPi can use Guest and it’ll all work. If use MQTT you can push everything to a remote HA instance(home HA server) using MQTT statestream and just send image On_Motion via some notify component. You connect and control from remote server. This keeps you out of ITs hair and provides remote access

EDIT
Zwave, Zigbee, hubs and such will work. Just would avoid wifi/network connected sensors
