@corporategoth’s third-party HA integration works great! I use it to announce the dog door opening/closing so we know when he lets himself in/out, have an automation that turns on the back lights at night for 5 minutes when the door opens, and an automation that turns off the door’s inside sensor when my lightning sensor detects a nearby storm so that the knucklehead doesn’t let himself out to try and bite the lightning when he hears the first clap of thunder…
