Automated RO Water Assistance

Hi Home Assistant & ESPHome Community,

I have a Reverse Osmosis Water filtration system for brewing beer, and for my CPAP machine.
I’m wanting to see the volume of water I currently have. I’m thinking of something like this float switch will do the trick for that part. I should be fine to set that side of things up.

What I’m trying to get my head around is how to automate the flow of water. Looking at some of the sprinkler systems and how they use little solenoid valves to turn on and off water supplies. Are there any suggestions on products that can easily be popped onto a ESP32 or 8266?
I’m from Aus, so it’d be a bonus for places that ship here for a reasonable price!

TIA!

Most solenoid valves operate on 24VAC. You can turn them on and off using a relay attached to an ESP.

You can get both the valves and the power supplies from Bunnings.

Here’s a blog (not mine) where someone has hooked one up. Ignore the software side (it’s about irrigation systems) - you really only need to read about powering the valve through a relay.
