Automating a touch-sensor controlled LED light strip array

I’m currently scratching my head for ideas on how to automate my LEDs in a display cabinet. The unit is identical to this:

I thought I could just hook up the device to a smart plug and get myself some cheap smart lighting, but after installing it I’ve realized that the power supply doesn’t remember the previous state it was in prior to being power down, so when I return power via a smart plug it doesn’t turn on.

Has anyone got any experience or ideas that might help automate this particular piece of kit?

Hi James Hercock,

Is it WIFI or Zigbee or something?
You would have to be able to talk to it for HA to see it.

Unfortunately it is neither, my plan was to automate using a smart plug however the default state being off means that this plan isn’t working
