Hi guys.
I have recently migrated from VERA, after almost two years of stalling, as my system is quite large and complex with many 3rd party systems integrated.
The one thing I am unsure about is related to scripts and automation. With the vera I hardly ever made scenes(like automations) that had long delays (longer than a few seconds. The reason for this is that should the Luup (lua) engine restart unexpectedly (something that happens rather often on the VERA), the automation would not continue after restart.
I am 100% certain the stability of HASS is much better, but I am still making quite a number of changes then require restarts.
My question is this: Do incomplete automations (especially ones with delays) continue after restart, or do all pending steps simply get “forgotten”.
It’s not a problem, as I simply create seperate automations for the critical items for ON and OFF actions… but it would be cleaner to create singular automations with long delays.
I look forward to many good years with HASS. I am really enjoying the ultimate flexibility.
Regards
