My setup: home assistant OS runs as a VM in proxmox. I operate two ESP32 boards as an Awox-ble-mesh hub for two Awox lamps. these are configured in HA via the ESPHome addon. Unfortunately, for reasons that are still inexplicable, these two ESPs often lose connection to the lamps. If I reinstall the configuration on the ESP32 boards it works again. But it’s very annoying to always have to do this manually using the addon. My question would be whether I could somehow put this into an automnation? So install or “update all” every 2 hours in ESPHome? Thanks in advance for your help!
I would prefer a replacement controller for my Awox lamps with the Zigbee standard. I could only remove the lamps themselves if I had a lot of time. And even then, some things would break. Maybe there are a few electricians here in the forum who have a good tip for a new driver!?
The version I installed is the following: Amazon Awox
Thanks for the quick reply!
True words and good comparison.
Then I’ll do it differently now, I need a different Zigbee driver for the two lamps. I could only remove the lamps themselves if I had a lot of time. And even then, some things would break. Maybe there are a few electricians here in the forum who have a good tip for a new driver!?
The version I installed is the following: Amazon-Eglo
Before going any further make sure that you actually lost connection to the lamps and that it is not only a timeout in HA that marks them as unavailable because HA have not seen them in the time interval it has set.
Some devices have longer check in intervals than HA and then HA will mark them as unavailable in periods.
The problem is that these lamps spark over BLE-Mash. As I understand it, the lamps must always be connected to each other to build this BLE-Mash network. There are many people on the Internet who have a very similar problem with this manufacturer. My two lamps are 3 meters apart and yet the signal is constantly breaking off. That’s exactly how it was with Awox’s app control. These devices have a diameter of one meter, where they spark reliably
One of these lamps was pretty much the entry for me into the smart home, I’ve been trying to get this under control for years now. Two manufacturer apps, 3 HA integrations and plenty of time. I just need two other LED controllers for the lamps. I can’t anymore
No, currently these controllers are broadcasting over BLE mesh. I would have liked to have exchanged these controllers (at the top of the picture) for Zigbee controllers. Of course, Wi-Fi controllers would also work, but I just switched to Z2M and I like Zigbee!
My problem is rather that I can’t find a replacement according to the data. Especially because of the three outputs with a maximum of 3 watts.
