Is it somehow possible to let HA issue a pairing command to an android device? Let me explain what I want to do. I have paired my tablet to my google nest speaker, but from time to time the bluetooth connection is lost. I would like to write an automation that just monitors if my tablet is still paired and automatically repairs it if the bluetooth pairing is lost.
I can monitor the bluetooth connection status via the sensors from the companion app, but can’t force a pairing. I guess it might not be possible at all, since it could mean a security flaw, but you never know …
Thanks. That could be the way to go. I did a quick check and I can indeed turn on and off the Bluetooth like this. I will monitor to see if it reliably reconnects like this.
p.s. I had actually found a very roundabout way to do it. Using a TTS notification, I could let my tablet speak out the words “OK Google, connect Bluetooth”, and the Nest speaker actually understands it and reconnects But if the above method works reliable, it is of course nicer.
