Automation using DLNA media

I want to play a Plex playlist on a Home Assistant media player. To be clear, the Plex server is on a different server and not on HAOS. I can successfully find and play media from Plex using the default “Media” dashboard screen.

Now this is where my confusion starts. I don’t know how to play a Plex playlist using DLNA in an automation.

I thought maybe I need to add the “DLNA Digital Media Renderer” integration, but it doesn’t seem to detect Plex. It says “Room1” (which I think it a reference to a Yamaha/musiccast amp in my home).

Do I need to use the DLNA integration, and if so, how would I “manually” configure it to find Plex? My second question is how to play a playlist from Plex in an automation

I use Plex on Home Assistant,it sucks because the Plex HA addon doesn’t support DLNA.IF you however do have Plex in a separate server, then you have to add it to the DLNA integration device list(it should pop up automatically).

Does your Plex DLNA get detected by other devices in the house?
