I am ultimately trying to get CarPlay to work with home assistant, but getting my iPhone to trigger something would be a win at this point. I created an action in the companion app on my iPhone called OpenGarageDoor. Then, I created an automation. The trigger - event ios.action_fired has trigger actionName = “OpenGarageDoor”. It doesn’t seem to actually trigger anything. I tried to trigger it using my iPhone’s shortcuts. Thinking maybe it needed the actionID instead, I made actionName = . The automation’s last run = never.
I feel like I’m missing a simple step somewhere. HELP???
