Autoslide - key switch cable or rs485

hi all,

can anyone recommend which device would be best to integrate and use this feature: https://autoslide.gorgias.help/en-US/integrating-my-system-with-3rd-party-devices-336516 with the autoslide product?

Would a shelly 1 work? i am trying to get more info from autoslide but just getting links to articles so far. hopefully they can help a bit more.

thank you very much

seems it would be something like this Industrial RS232 RS485 Serial to WiFi & Ethernet Converter with Modbus

But I am not sure how to then hook it up to home assisant. do i need to use a specific type of module - perhaps esphome?

or i can use https://attachments.gorgias.help/uploads.gorgias.io/0l9dY2VKggd7rZkL/AutoSlide_-_Key_Switch_Cable_Guide-fb43c96a-cc89-41d9-ae5b-913fbdd7fda2.pdf

maybe a smaller rm4 could be hooked up to this?

Seems like I should try something like this and just wire up Shelly Pro 3, Smart Home Automation Australia

So I found a lot more about this in case it helps others and will update this thread

The cable that you get can only tell the door to open. I’m not sure how long you can keep it open without changing the mode, but you cannot change the mode through third party. You can only change the mode of the system with the key fob, wireless or on the device itself

We often leave our sliding door open during the day and summer to let the cool air in, so this is definitely something I need to solve.

i was told this may be wrong - im getting the door installed today and will update this thread on what controls are possible. changing the mode via dry contact would be awesome and it seems it may be possible.

Okay, the device is installed and working well. Turns out it uses an rf433 frequency transmitter to cycle the modes. So I just use my rm4 Pro to replicate this and set up a helper that matches the setting and cycles the correct cycles based on what you select

I am working with autoslide to see if I can push them to actually set up proper integration. They have an app that works by calling the local API or remotely through a Gateway, so it should be pretty straightforward to integrate to home assistant officially.

If anyone else is after it, please help me by contacting them and asking them to do so.
