Available space less than 1GB

Hi there. I’m new to HA and do not have a techy background so apologies for the basic question. I’m getting an alert in my Notifications saying that I have less than 1GB of space availble. There is some advice in a link below the alert about how to resolve this, but not for HA installed on a virtual machine. I have used UTM on an M3 Mac to host HA. Can anyone explain in layman’s step-by-step terms how I go about expanding available space? I can’t see anything obvious in UTM when I go into edit mode on the HA virtual machine.

Also, I’m guessing having HA installed on my Mac isn’t the most effective solution as it means I have to have the VM constantly on and HA open in my browser in order to access it through the HA app on my phone. I’m also planning on linking HA to a newly acquired Unfolded Circle Remote 3 - again I’m assuming the VM and HA will have to remain on in order for that to work properly. Would it be better to get the HA Green?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You don’t need to have a browser open on the Mac hosting the virtual machine. But naturally for HA to work you need to have it run 24/7. A dedicated device like the Green would be a good starting point.

A mini PC is a good choice too.

I do not know MAC that much, so can’t help you with increasing the storage size, but once you have increased it HA will auto-resize to fill the entire size given on next startup.
