Through the AVM FRITZ!SmartHome integration, the temperature presets ‘comfort’ and ‘eco’ of AVM thermostats can be changed in an automation.

However, when I define an Action to change the HVAC mode in a particular room to, e.g., “eco”, all thermostats in the house are changed to “eco”. I have not selected a group. Is this a known bug, or am I just not smart enough to use a smart thermostat?

Ok, it seems that even if no group is selected, when you change the preset on one thermostat, all others are active as well. Removed the group on the Fritzbox, and now it only changes the one individual thermostat.
