Axpert 5k inverter to esphome help

Hi, Hoping someone could possibly help me out with connecting an RCT Axpert 5k inverter to ESPhome. If they have done it, is it possible or have more info?

Ive tried to make a cable up shown here for the pipsolar GitHub - syssi/esphome-pipsolar: ESPHome component to monitor and control a pipsolar inverter via RS232

but keep getting an error as the following

[13:13:40][D][pipsolar:757]: timeout command to poll: QPIRI
[13:13:40][D][pipsolar:840]: Sending polling command : QPIRI with length 5

I have tried 2 rs232 to ttl converter boards that unfortunately need soldering with a needle it seems. If i do a continuity test. i get a beep on the ground. but when testing the tx and rx channels i get an ohm reading. Im not to sure if that does mean there is a short or those readings would be given with the capicitors on the circuitry.

If someone has managed to do this, could you possibly point me the direction of possibly the AXPERT 5k serial pinouts. or what rs232-ttl adapter they used. as this microboard soldering doesn’t seem to be working. perfer something with an ethernet port or jumper pins if possible.

Thanks

Hey, did you connected with that inverter finally?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes i did get it working, the issue was the micro ttl-rs232 converter.
You can view the thread at the link below

Ich hab das gleiche Problem heute.
QPIRI with length 5 und die darüberliegende Timeout Zeile.
Wie hast du es gelöst? War der MAX3232 defekt.

Hi, Yes the wiring to the board was not correct for me, The RS232-ttl had 2 separate channels, Bottom side and top side of the board. you couldnt have inverter tx and rx with one being on top and the other at the bottom solder pads. once put on the same side it worked.

This thread should help with that module wiring.
