Suggest you to use manuals written by humans (there are plenty of them) and less depend on chatgpt.

Using “sudo” allows you to execute commands from root.
Are you using HassOS ? If yes - sorry, cannot help… this is some kind of limited version of *nix system…

Thanks for the response. Where do I edit the background for this particular Overview Page? That has been the crux of my question all along.
Can you open a “edit view” (or whatever it is titled) dialog for this view?
Does it have any mentioning of a background?

I think you and I covered this off already and found that it couldn’t be done from there.
I can open “Raw Config” from the hamburger menu, however I can’t find the picture.
Well, it is a mystery. The background is not set in raw yaml editor - but is shown.
Then try grepping that jpg.
BTW, just in case - clear your browser cache.
At the top of your board click on the pencil on the right.
Then, when in edit mode click the pencil near your home tab
In the pop up, go to “Background tab”
Can you confirm there is no background configured there for the specific home tab of your dashboard ?
I agree with @Ildar_Gabdullin , it is super weird you see nothing related in raw yaml config … what kind of installation do you have ? HAOS, supervised , anything else ? Do you have an ssh / console access to home assistant config files ?

Hello. I just followed what I thought was his instructions and the main view - everything from the first tab is gone.I hope I can restore via a backup. The term “Delete View” is a bit misleading, especially when I’ve selected “Background” to work with. I would have thought that that meant “delete the picture” not the entire tab and all it’s contents.
So, where are you now with your original request/issue?
umm… I busy trying to rebuild the main page of my home assistant; the one that tells me the weather, the garbage pickup, the sunrise and sunset etc. Good news is the picture is gone.
