Is the backup’s on HA universal?

Could a Backup of a Raspberry Pi install, be restored to a Container on Ubuntu?

The backups (formerly snapshots) are only universal if used with a supervised install ( HA OS or HA Supervised). The can’t be restored on a HA Container install.

What you can do: copy your /config directory (including the hidden files/directories) over to your new install.

Is the platform for HomeAssistant, a pure choice, or, is there a better one?

I have a RP4 running it, well. A few glitches.

I have a ESXi host where I could add it to a existing Ubuntu, or build a dedicated host.

Just wondering if there is a ‘better’ install
