Backup to One-drive not working?

Hi All

I was so happy to see One drive being part of the native backup.
And I can see that it creates the backup folder at: OneDrive: Apps\Graph\backups_70ea07f1

So it have write access to the folder. And the backup does run, but fails forever when it starts to upload the backup. Only way to stop it is to reboot HA.

If I use local NFS shared drive it works, only when adding OneDrive it breaks.
I see no log entries. OneDrive integration works I have status of the share and storage.

Running latest version:

  • Core 2025.3.4
  • Supervisor 2025.03.3
  • Operating System15.0
  • Frontend 20250306.0

Is anyone experiencing the same? - Hope someone can help

I think it only work for personal OneDrive.
Business OneDrive (SharePoint) does not work and the question is then what an Office Family 365 subscription is

For me, it takes a while, but backup to Onedrive works. But Onedrive is notorious slow.

I am using the personal family 365 account for OneDrive.
So strange it just says upload forever hours, okay I will leave if for a day and see what happens :slight_smile:

I have a topic with Onedrive backup.

Even if backup works w/o issues on the local drive, when tries to backup to onedrive, crashes, and i have to power off / power on home assistant.

I think this started to happen only after HA OS 18.0.

It’s somehow linked to the memory usage or something.
It’s only crashes on my HOAS on raspberry pi 3 b+. (1GB RAM)
Just before crashing memory use increases significantly and then , the system gets disconnected from web interface and also ssh has no more access.

I believe linux tries to unload some memory and then all adons are out :slight_smile:

I tried

  • to increase swap from 1 GB to 3GB, same error
  • to disable encryption of backup, same error

I’ll simple give up backup to one drive, and that’s it.
I’ll try to google drive.

PS: I have another HAOS on a raspberry pi5 with lots of RAM and no issues there
