Backup with State History - How?

I am using the google drive backup addon and it saved me today after a self induced scr*w up.

The only downside is my state history was not restored despite me doing a full restore and not partial.

Whats the best way to backup state history?

Stop/lock the database before making the backup.

Ok thanks, didnt know that.

If I do that will Google Drive Backup addon automatically backup the db?

Is there a way to config it so it can do this automatically as part of its backup process?

Not sure I don’t use Google Drive Backup.
