If I browse to my samba share /config/backup the folder is empty. However I can still see my backups in the hassio snapshot menu and I can download them. The path according to the tool tip on the snapshot download button is:
/api/hassio/snapshots/
Is this intentional or a bug?
Was there a braking change I missed?
Using HassOS 0.81.5. Not sure when this happened.

Same issue here.
I updated to 0.81.5 and samba version 7 today, so one of those updates cause the problem.
Worked with 0.81.4 and samba 6.
Im running hass.io

Update samba to version 8. The snapshots aren’t missing from /backup. Samba is mapping the wrong directory (/share)
