[BAD] Moes ZS-EUB

Hi all,
I just tested a Moes ZS-EUB_1gang light switch.

Pros:

  • After connecting the cables, it joined seamlessy to HA using Zigbee2MQTT.
  • Can work without Neutral.

Cons:

  • Near useless: lacks all common functions like detached mode, long press, double click.
  • Simple device, no repeater function.

Conclusion: lost money!

There may be blueprints that people have written to simulate those functions. There also may be events available that can be captured to do those things. There may also be a custom Quirk that includes of some of those.

Lots of possibilities if you search for them.

No. Not a chance.
It doesn’t have detached mode and when you press it switch the realy even before sending the status update.

Of course it works and can have an use but it’s very limited.

If the bulb is smart, I just wire it live and don’t use the relay. That’s what actually happens in detached mode, the relay is just always on. That’s an issue with no neutral stuff but other wise…

No: detached mode is when the button/switch action doesn’t control (directly) the relay. The relay is not ON but is controlled through the network protocol.

Eg. I long press the button, HA get the status and an Automation sends a command to two or more relays.

None of these things were listed as supported functions in the Z2M device page you linked to.

If you lost money, that’s on you.

I got a suggestion from an other thread: flash a custom firmware from here

This device is compatible and now it works!
I have a detached mode push button with press, release and long press; a relay and also a led!
Thanks @ferbulous

Btw, can it still work as router if you enable that in the firmware?

For most devices there are two firmwares so you can chose between Router and End Device.
