I’ve been playing with/using HA for a good few years, hosted on a Dell mini-PC and finally settled on a deployment via ProxMox. All works well.
I’ve moved house and finally starting to do a proper full install, and have bought a cheap Android tablet as a starter for 10 to figure out how best to use Fully Kiosk to provide a wall panel.
I’m really struggling to get it set up so that:
- My HA start URL is the launch screen and nothing else runs
- The device stays connected to my wifi so I can control it via Node-RED
- The screen goes off after a short period to save energy/limit light pollution
- The screen wakes when I approach it
I’ve kind of got most of the above “sort of” working, albeit sometimes the device won’t come back from sleep, or if it does the wifi has been switched off and I have to manually switch it back on.
The biggest problem I’ve got though is battery drain - it is barely lasting a few hours when not plugged in. Part of this will no doubt be the cheap device I bought but I also suspect I’ve buggered the FKB settings and its not properly going into rest mode, even if the screen does go black.
I’ve searched and can’t find a thread that helps at this basic level, however I know it will be out there somewhere.
