Battery level 100% ZHA

All of my ZHA devices are currently reporting 100% battery level, they have been active for around 3 months so it’s hard for me to believe this to be a valid value.

I’ve tried 2 options:

Using the sensor created by the ZHA integration:

Created a template sensor:

- platform: template
  sensors:
    downstairs_hallway_motion_battery:
friendly_name: 'Downstairs hallway motion sensor battery'
      value_template: '{{state_attr("binary_sensor.hall_lower", "battery")}}'
      unit_of_measurement: percent

Both of them aren’t working. What am I doing wrong?

Toen you’re lucky… I have 2 sensors within 1 month its empty.
What sensors you are using? Maybe I will switch… My sensors are also Zwave

I am using 1 outdoor hue motion sensor and 3 indoor hue motion sensors but I will not accept these values to be correct…

Any updates on the battery reporting?
Did you manage to solve it?

Nope, still the same issue :frowning:

Here 1 other device show me now 90% battery level. So seems to work normal.
You also can check battery level in the ZHA portal?

@poudenes What do you mean by the ZHA portal, can you maybe share a screenshot?

Do you have Zigbee or Zwave ? I have Zwave and make use of Zwave2MQTT and within the Z2M portal I can check all the info about the devices

I use Zigbee and use the native home assistant ZHA integration.

I have this same setup (ZHA and Phillips Hue motion sensors both indoor and outdoor). They don’t appear to report battery levels in a way that HA can read. I haven’t been able to get a reading.

Lately I’ve been struggling with the indoor ones failing to report motion intermittently.

@brandont Any luck getting it to work?

@Jdruwe I never had good success so I replaced them (the indoor ones) with a Zooz Z-wave and those works great. I kept the Phillips outdoor motion sensor though and that works well.
