Battery status not working anymore 1.8.0

It seems since I’ve updated to version 1.8.0 that my device isn’t sending any battery-updates anymore.
I don’t have “Zones” on on my device, but also I didn’t have that on in the previous version and it was working fine. Also (of course) already did reboot my device. (Galaxy S9+)

The reason I’m pretty sure it’s a problem since the last update: on my tablet (also Samsung) I still have version 1.7.x and that’s still working like it did before (also without giving my location to the app).

It sounds like something did not update properly on your device. I am on 1.8.0 and my battery status is updating as expected. Charging status and charging type are captured in template sensors and those updated all day and night.
